Khao Pra Bang Kram Wildlife Sanctuary

Khao Pra Bang Kram Wildlife Sanctuary

  • Small patches of lowland tropical rain forest in the southern part of Thailand known also as Khao Nor Choo Chi. Very few birders choose to omit Khao Pra Bang Kram from the birding program in Thailand, not only because it is the remaining habitat of scant couples of Gurney's Pitta, but it also supports a variety of bird species in peninsular of Thailand. There are many well-trodden birding trails.

    Attractive birds include:

  • Blue-rumped Parrot, Red-billed Malkoha, Scarlet-rumped Trogon, Rufous-collared Kingfisher, Red-bearded Bee-eater, Black Hornbill, Golden-whiskered Barbet, Red-crowned Barbet, Buff-necked Woodpecker, Black-and-Red Broadbill, Green Broadbill, Giant Pitta, Hooded Pitta, Banded Pitta, Lesser Cuckoo-shrike, Great Iora, Lesser-Green Leafbird, Scaly-breasted Bulbul, Grey-bellied Bulbul, Olive-winged Bulbul, Red-eyed Bulbul, Hairy-backed Bulbul, Streaked Bulbul, Black Magpie, Black-capped Babbler, Large Wren-Babbler, Chestnut-capped Thrush, Rufous-winged Flycatcher, Maroon-breasted Flycatcher, Purple-throated Sunbird, Long-billed Spiderhunter, Scarlet-breasted Flowerpecker, Yellow-breasted Flowerpecker, etc.
